ENIGMA ART
The very name suggests to the viewer that a puzzle awaits. These photos show unfamiliar views of ordinary objects or everyday scenes. Such photographic/artful moments are encountered all the time, but usually go unrecognized by most. It is Max Blechman’s artistry to recognize this ephemeral imagery and photograph it to capture the moment for everyone.
The play of light is often a common denominator. It can turn a humdrum composition into a dazzler. The images aren’t heavily worked on (if they’re worked on at all) — just some cropping and adjustment to the light to enable the viewer to more precisely see what Max is seeing.
The viewer will receive no informational help from the photo’s title to interpret what’s shown. The titles are commemorations of his family and friends, having no connection to the image, but only serving as an identifier.
In many cases, he has shot a “Legend Photograph” — a wider-angle photo of the situation, where it is clear of what is being photographed. (These Legend Photographs are only available to buyers of the relevant Enigma Art Photographs.)
